  1. But then I'll get warmer colors with lower wattage, ND is a solution I think.
  2. I'm worried that with those practical work lamps as main lights it might get too bright, resulting in a very hard light. I used some of those before and they were very, very bright. As far as I know there is no way to diffuse them since they will be in the shot.
  3. Miguel I like it a lot. It might be exactly what I'm looking for here. Thanks for pointing it out.
  4. I'm not a fan of those little REDs either. I'd rather prefer a panel of fluorescent tubes to light actors when they are near computers.
  5. I will check it out. Why you believe there is different approach to it?
  6. I can use Fluorescent lights for the scenes when actors are near computers, should work just fine.
  7. I like that. The script calls for a computer station, which will be right in the middle of the room. I think work lamps will actually underline the story.
  8. Do you think fixing there 1Ks would be overkill for bouncing light off the walls for wide shots?
  9. Guy great information. The water everywhere is not from building itself. We shot a short last week which involved lots of water spraying :) It will be completely dry by next week. So no need for GFCIs. However idea to mount lights directly to the rain is good, I don't know why I missed it.
  10. No, the hole in the roof will be covered. Script calls for a location deep underground. I was thinking to fix fluorescent tubes on the ceiling, and then light the rest. I might go with wides first to have more freedom later.
  11. I'll be shooting this film soon which takes place mostly in a basement. Four actors. I like the look of Reservoir Dogs, which I'd love to replicate for the first part but with richer skin tones. Closer to the end I'm after dramatic lighting with deep shadows and desaturated skin tones. I don't want it to be too dark to the point where we can not see where we are. Any thoughts? Here is a picture so you have an idea of how it might look like, in the middle there will be a table and all the action happens around it.
  12. I'd recommend contacting Olexandr Kalynychenko, great guy who knows a lot about Lomo lenses. He's on this forum.
  13. It's solely for testing purposes, just wonder how it feels and looks. I always wanted to get Cooke zoom, God such a great lens. For some reason it feels right to me.
  14. Ah, sorry for outbidding you, David. That's quite a surprise.
  15. Hi, I purchased foton 37-140mm this morning for $250, and the best part is that it already has MFT adapter. Will use it on Blackmagic first. I never used this lens and there are very little reviews online about it. Although some footage looks great. Can anybody tell if that's was good buy or waste of money?) Few years ago I had Lenar zoom, and I liked it. A bit soft but good. I kind of trust Lomo now, and since Foton is made by Lomo it should be good, right?
  16. If you need something to start I'd recommend redheads. Also come with barn doors but as been said they are useful only to put gels and diffusion on. They are relatively cheap and powerful tungsten lights. Usually come 800w as a kit bulb but you can change it for something like 250w, which can be used for backlight for example. I'll be using those to light my first feature. I did some tests and from what I can see they are useful lights. Although get hot, very hot. The main difference between those and the ones you showed (security lamp) on picture is that redheads have even reflectors inside, which gives you a bit more sharper shadow. All those little bubbles you see around the bulb will give you nothing more but trouble.
  17. Different scenes lit differently. Please specify which one you refer to.
  18. Yeah I know about Alan Smithee. But I don't want use a name that describes me as somebody who refused to be credited. Instead, I want a name that can be used to credit all my work and won't create problems afterwards. There is no money for an entertainment lawyer I'm afraid.
