  1. Dear All, I just saw rushes from my negatives taken from my super16 aaton Ltr54, i am getting a telltale intermittent flashes or fogging on the images. during telecine, i was able to look at the film strip and noticed a fogging on a frame or between frames, once for every 20 or so frames. it is more noticeable in darker scenes. i noticed this flicker in over 6 rolls of film, the shots were very sharp and nicely focused, hence this rules out the pressure plate. also the lighting use was tungsten sources, thus ruling out light flickers from fluorecent or non flickerfree HMIs, i also change mags. the flicker also appeared on day exterior shots, but the wierd thing is as recently as a couple of months ago, the same camera was used and the footages were beautiful. the flashes are intermittent, sometime it comes out every second to 1 and half seconds... any thoughts on this? pigdog
  2. Arri 3 2nd generation package, last overhauled by visual products in 2002 and in excellent condition, will email full specs and pictures to interested parties contact me or send replies to: pigdog@borg-space.com note: Camera was NEVER used other than to run tests after taking delivery
  3. for the money i go for the AATONS, i am an experiancesd aaton user and i drived my cameras for days on ends and it has not failed me in rough conditions, i love the fact that it is comfortable to use and easy to load, easy to maintain, ok my aaton is an old timer of an LTR54 and LTR7, these bodies are reliable if you dont need anything facny, i would rather you buy good lenses to go with the aatons.
  4. does anyone have any advise regarding the use of the Tobin Milliframe Controller with the LTR54? i need to shoot at 2fps, however since the LTR54 is limited to a minimum of 6fps, has anyone have any experience with the tobin TMC? or is there an alternative, tobin's is not expensive which is great for me... also does anyone have any experiance with the eSHot intervalometyer that is available at Able Cine? ctr
  5. Greetings Dmuench, i noticed you are from australia, the good news is LeMack of sydney and melbourne are aaton dealers and service centers, i am based in Hong kong and it is a lot more practical for me to ship my aaton to sydney for routine maintenance, they also recell batteries and i find them a lot more affordable than the US ctr
  6. Greetings! I saw your enquiry about the LTR54 for USD9500.00 pretty decent package, a super16 is definitely the way to go. but i think you will need more batteries, also you should ask the seller what type of batteries are in the package as the ltr 54 can use 12v 1.8amp or the 16v if you wish to run up to 54fps, the former can only run up to 32. I own a converted ltr54 , meaning i had it convrted to s16 2 years ago and this camera has served me well, my only gripe is the battery, i am using nicads and the current ones are 1.8 amps from abel cine. nicads as a rule have "memory" issues, the newer aaton batteries are NiMH types which run longer and lighter and has no :memory issues. the package you saw comes with a tube video, and it looks like the original one that came with aaton, this is not a very efficient model and you can get newer more efficient ones, nonetheless it is still a good buy, just make sure you get a warranty from the seller. good luck! ctr
