  1. Opinions greatly appreciated. Is this a value for money package ? Roughly how much would it cost in the UK to convert to Super16 and would it (with a blimp or similar) be quiet enough running to do sync sound in enclosed locations ? Thanks in advance for any help http://cgi.ebay.com/ARRIFLEX-Arri-BL-16mm-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. Grabs from the footage look wonderful. Get more inclined to start on film every time i see stills of this quality
  3. While I agree with you on their undeniable credibility on this forum, there are plenty of other contributors here who fall into the same category

    Bolex SBM

Thanks Tim, thats thats what I thought might be the reply but opposite to what I'd hoped

    Bolex SBM

Hi, I'd like to know whether the Bolex 16mm SBM runs quiet enough to be able to record the sound in medium sized room locations. Thanks in advance for any information
  6. I don't think it matters what exposure settings you're using to determine the ISO. I have read reports on the forums here that say it is equivalent to 160 but my personnel meter readings don't give me this value
  7. Just watched a trailer for this movie. Just like to say the cinematography looks stunning. Well done Mr.Mullen
  8. I personally feel that after using a 2/3" Betacam you'll be dissapointed with footage from the 170
  9. As you quoted, I've never heard anything but praise about Century Optics products so bought the converter here in Prague without trying it. (they actually didn't have one in stock and had to order) I'd destroyed the tests I talked about but have just done a real quickie so as to illustrate the degradation. Low and behold on this test there is no noticable loss of image quality. Perhaps I hadn't attached the converter properly in the initial testing, although it's a bayonet fitting...strange Anyway heres a 2meg comparison pic with grabbed frames, stretched in Photoshop and resized to 1000 pixels wide http://www.electrickiss.com/WAcomparison.jpg
  10. Last week I bought from the same optical company a wide angle converter (x.7) for $1465 to fit the the Sony Z1 - Been test shooting at all apertures over the last few days and am hugely dissapointed by the loss in image quality. For what I shoot will probably never be able to use it
  11. Hi Gabor I think the images look great, and also think you've done a good post job with MB. Well done. As a matter of interest were you filming with gain set to 0 in the lowlight scenes ? Would like to see some footage from the finished project.
  12. Theres a tutorial here for what you require http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/...s_colorpass.htm
