  1. Hey, I have a shoot coming up and I was wondering how well the suction cups on a car rig would do in the cold, Im talk -20 to -30 degree temperatures. Let me know
  2. Does anyone know where I could send my Strand or LTM HMI to get repaired??
  3. Just to confirm I can send these guys an email with questions and they will respond?
  4. Ive seen the shot around and thought it looked cool, so i've been watching some videos online that show me how to make some but they are all for dslrs. I couldn't fine any makes for any cinema cameras. I think the problem is that I've been looking for a snorri cam and not body cam. Really I just want to study them and see if I can make one with the equipment I have access to. Im just interested in learning more about them and if anyone has any advise, videos, pictures or links to profession body cams I would love to have them. Let me know Thanks again guys always helpful J
  5. Hey, looking for some snorri cam set ups. Either different models I can check out or homemade versions I can see pictures of. Let me know what ones you think are the best and why.
  6. I have already been a couple times to a rental house here in montreal to go over it with the guys and was lucky enough to work on a couple of shoots with an experienced dolly grip and I have another full day with it when I get to toronto. Also this isn't the first time I've been around that dolly just the first time I will be in charge of operating one. Im very safe on set and understand set protocol well. I'm just looking for any tips I can get to make it run smoother. I have leveled lots of track before and can do that no problem but would love to hear any tricks anyone might have, but stuff like what wheels to use in what situation, when would you use the push bar if ever and why you would use it, is there's anything weird about charging the system is the pump faster to use than the charger, can the charger be plugged in while pushing, any tricks about timing a complicated move like using a metronome or is it a waste of time and distracting when to use the your monitor and when to use your marks, what's your favorite wax to use on the track and why etc. Ive read up a bunch on a couple other forums, talked to other dolly grips, worked with the Peeweek under some one else and have already got some answers to all of these questions but I want to have as many opinions as possible so I can do the best job I can when I get on set. I've been following a lot of the posted on this page and have learned a lot from everyone here and was hoping to get some more amazing advise. Look forward to hearing for everyone and anyone
  7. Hey everyone! I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering if anyone could confirm my theory (not really mine but its something I was thinking about before, I'm sure other people have either done it or thought of it before). I wondering if I can power a 4k off of two 110v 6500w Honda red genny's. The way Im was thinking it could be done is if I run Joy (or Bate for you americans) from each of the genny's 30amp circuits and connect them at at the ballast with a male male to female adaptor and plug that into the ballast. In my head that gives me 220v at 60amps a total of around 6600w which should be enough even for the spike the light does when striking. Even giving my another 6400w (3200 in each Genny) to plug a couple other things into. Im wondering firstly if that would work, and secondly if it would be safe to plug more lights into those genny's or if its better just to get another genny for the extra lights. On a side note I was also wondering if a 4k could be powered off of two110v honda 3000w genny. The max I could pull out of them with Joy would be 40amps (20amps off each) at 220v a total of around 4400 watts. Would 4400w at 220v be enough to survive the spike when striking the light. Let me know J
  8. Hey Matt I know the offer was for the postie do you think you could send me that manual or point me in the right direction. I'm a young electro and I'm just eager to learn as much as I can. Let me know if you can help me out.

  10. Looking to buy some ZEP PAR NC Silicone Spray. Anyone know where I can find some in montreal/Toronto or Online?
  11. I a young electro mainly working independent film in montreal and have heard about a dance floor but don't know exactly what it is, do you think you could explain it to me or just send me to a link, and why 3/4"x4"x9" plywood pads would be necessary?? Thanks J
  12. Thanks for the response. The shoot I'm on is a small shoot and I have experience leveling track and pushing but not with the Peewee. Thanks for the response Rob J
  13. Hey Im new to working with the Peewee and was hoping somebody out there could point me in the right direct to find some good tutorial on assembling the peewee and give me some general advice about the peewee itself and what an operator should do and not do. I am planning on going into a rental house before the shoot to have some hands on experience with it as well but thought I'd post something here and see who bites. I was also hoping to get some advise on what a dolly grip would bring to set with him/her on the day of shooting. I have a background as an electro and have been around other dolly grips but have never got into the details of what they bring to set. Would love to hear from some one. Thanks again guys J
