  1. If re-threading is essential for testing, then I shall do that. Good advice in regards to the tripod. I have a Sachtler Video 90 with a flat base. Do you think there still could be issues?
  2. Hello All, A question for anyone who knows film camera test procedures. I recently acquired an Arricam LT and am wondering if it is it possible to perform a steadiness test by shooting a couple of hundred feet, fixed lens, camera on tripod, pointed at a Siemens chart. Then cover up the lens, put the camera in reverse for the same length, then dutch the chart and expose a second pass? Or is it essential that I remove the exposed first pass footage, re-spool it and thread it again for the second exposure? Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

  4. Thank you Dom! I'll keep that in mind, that's very good to know.
  5. Hello All, I recently got into shooting on film and am on a steep learning curve. I just tried to mount an Arri Ultra16 PL mount 50mm onto my Arricam LT but the back of the lens touches the mirror. I realize that the Ultra16s were made for S16 and they fit nicely onto my 416 but I didn't think there'd be a problem fitting them onto the Arricam. Do Super35 lenses generally have a shorter back end? Thanks!
  6. Looking For : (Preowned) To Purchase Arri Super 16 SR-III Kit I have an Arriflex SR3 Advanced kit for sale in excellent condition, but it is in London, UK.
  7. For sale is an Arriflex SR I Super 16mm PL mount camera package. The S16 conversion was done by PE Denz in Munich. This is the proper, expensive conversion where the Super 16 gate was moved and centred on the optical axis and a new PL mount front was fitted. The camera works without problems, I have shot 100 feet of film to test it. The batteries are charging and working well. Using the speed control, you can crank it up to 75 frames per second. This wonderful camera was owned by a German DP and looked after very well before I bought it a few months ago. I have since bought an Arri 416 and decided to sell it on. The paint work has blemishes but that is to be expected (please see pictures). Included in the package are: Arriflex SR1 camera body (PE Conversion) Serial Nr. 60500 3 x 400 feet SR magazines Camera grip 4-pin connection 2 x On-board batteries 1x battery charger 1x speed control 0-75 frames Light weight support 15mm rods Arri MB 16 swing away matte box, 15mm, with 2 4x4 filter trays 80mm fitting for classic Super 16mm PL mount lenses Arri clamp-on sun shade with two 3x3 filter trays Leather barney 2 x flight cases The lens is not included, for demonstration purposes only. The Arri MB16 matte box comes without a flight case. £2250 plus shipping for non-Ebay buyers https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292354667275?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  8. For sale are a set of Zeiss Super Speeds Super 16 consisting of: Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 9.5mm MKII (does cover Super 16) PL mount (metric and imperial) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 12mm MKI PL mount (metric and imperial, has additional markings by focus puller on camera tape.) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 16mm MKII PL mount (metric and imperial) Zeiss Distagon f1.2 / 25mm MKIII PL mount (metric) All four Super Speeds have just been checked, lens projected and approved by the lens master at Take 2 Films London. I've shot Super 16 mm film test footage and the glass mixes wonderfully. The 25mm especially produces a lovely cinematic bokeh. This is a great set of affordable classic cine prime lenses, ideal for Super 16mm film cameras and RED owners. Or for shooting high speed with a cropped sensor. Also for Panasonic GH3, GH4, GH5, BMPCC, BMCC. The optics are in perfect condition, no scratches, no fungus. The mechanics work very well. Cosmetically the lenses are very good for their age. The 25mm's front ring has a mark, probably caused by a clamp-on matte box. Please check the photos. All lenses come with PL mount and front and back lens covers. Price: £4200 Sterling Ebay listing is here: http://r.ebay.com/U7AnD0

  15. Hi All, I am looking for a technician who can service my Arriflex 2c BNCR which has been sitting on a tripod in my house, unused, for the past 20 years. I used two 9V batteries in sequence to test if the motor is still running and it was rattling away with a healthy roar at 25 fps. Nevertheless, the camera has not been maintained in all these years and I would like to find a technician in or near London UK who could look at it for me? If anyone here knows someone who can, please send me a message. Many thanks!
