We've got a couple of Mitchell 16mm cameras coming up for sale if anyone is interested? They are mechanically in pristine condition and ready to shoot. Both based in London and will come with mags etc. PM if interested and we can chat about details. Cheers Marek

So, for those of you who are interested I have some news. I've just had some worm gear parts back from the precision engineers. I'm in the process of remanufacturing all the drive parts and this is the first step. Have a look at this. It's the camera running at 25fps with a full 400' load of 35mm with the brand new gears I got this afternoon: Will be getting the new motor case prints in a few weeks and ready to sell some 24fps non-synch motors which have been completely built from scratch if anyone is interested in buying one. The price for the first batch will be £500 each plus shipping. Cheers Marek

Unidentified viewfinder extension and Eclair CM3 stuff

Don't think it's a collimator. It looks more like a bore sight for an Eclair Camematic high speed camera. Probably worth £100. -

Don't think Picture 1 - 4 are for the Cameflex. It looks a bit like the parts to a collimator (incomplete). 5 and 6 are the case for the 16mm gate. 7 is a lens cap from a Kinoptik 8 No idea Cheers -
Nearly there. Just doing final adjustments to the case and motor parts. Some will be ready for sale end of February/beginning of March. Cheers

Cameflex Eclair motor runs but shutter is not moving.

Ask your guy to take photos of what he finds. I'm interested to see what was going on with your camera. Cheers Marek -

Did you manage to get it working? Cheers Marek -

Here's an even better version. I opened one of mine up and took some more photos for you. Should be fairly straightforward to check if yours is set up right. One thing I noticed was that I have a feeling that the variable shutter is bent out of shape. If it gets caught underneath the ground glass then it won't be able to move. However, if it can't move then neither can the rest of it and your motor runs. Have a look and see what you think. https://we.tl/t-Gk866efFqv -
Sent replies to your earlier thread. Here's a link to a Cameflex strip down document just in case you want to try it yourself: https://we.tl/t-s3KZ2HM66A

Here's a link to the amended stripdown document showing the correct position of the shutter knob. https://we.tl/t-s3KZ2HM66A -
Cameflex Eclair motor runs but shutter is not moving.

Dear Robbie, Visual Products can probably fix it. I would take it to bits and have a look to see what's going on. I made a Cameflex stripdown guide a while back that shows you how to take it to bits. It's a PDF but you can download it from here: https://we.tl/t-jekJrP2P3g There is one photo missing. It shows the correct position that the shutter knob has to be in before you can take the back plate off easily. I'll try to make an amended version and upload it to Wetransfer and then you'll be able to see what's going on. From your video it looks like the variable shutter is slightly bent and can't get past the prism. However, having said that, the motor would not turn at all. Cheers Marek -
Not sure how this one works. I've seen others that have a slightly different design on eBay. I have a friend who has built something like this. I'll ask him and see what he can figure out. He built a stop motion rig for his Mitchells using stepper motors. He may be able to help. If no one comes up with a solution I'll reply in a couple of weeks. Cheers

I think I know what a Cameback is. If you can upload a photo just to make sure we're talking about the same thing. I did have an idea about converting one and attaching a stepper motor to it to shoot single frame. Cheers

AZ Spectrum in New York should be able to fix it. I had one that wasn't working as a result of a small piece of dirt in one of the contacts. I can show you how to check but it may not be the same model? Upload a photo and if it's the same one I'll send detail of the fix.

What's wrong with it?
-
I was thinking about giving out a couple for testing. One is definitely going to you. I think I'll give one to Larry in New York as well. I'll be in touch once I've reconfigure the case and done the engineering. I spent months waiting for a precision engineer to get back to me. I've found someone new who is interested in the project. Price wise, they be going out for about £500 plus shipping. I'm working with an engineer in Turkey to make a crystal synch version. He's already worked out stable PID using a TI Tiva board. I'll ask him to design a stand alone solution using the latest technology available as all the solutions currently available use chips that aren't made any more. However, we might not need to do that if the testing goes well tomorrow. I'll keep you posted. Cheers Marek

So, this is the latest video showing the Cameflex tachometer running at 24FPS. Slowly getting it together to have some for sale if anyone is interested?
-
Almost done. Have cracked the speed control and am working with a precision engineer to make up the motor drive connector. This is the latest size and design for you to have a look at. I'll be getting a few non-synch (as close to synch as possible) 24fps and 25fps motors out soon for anyone that is interested. Cheers Marek
