  1. A month!!!! Now you tell me!! What kind of wild goose chase have you sent me on Joe!?!?!? 🙂 Kidding aside - I was about to go the SK Grimes approach so this is a life saver.
  2. And for anyone else looking for the same for Kern Switars - Joe's response led me to this site: https://rafcamera.com/adapters/thread-adapters Where I was able to locate an adapter for the 10mm and 26mm Kern Switars too. Thank you Joe!
  3. @Joe Fike - amazing!!! ...and the VND is exactly where I was going with this. Now I can use this all day every day and again at night! Thank you so much. Raaf
  4. Seemed like a great idea - get a fast lens. So I got an Angenieux 25mm f0.95. I made the assumption that I could find a filter for it. I'm not sure that assumption was correct. Does anyone know the diameter/thread of this lens? Has anyone found a ring that will fit and allow for step up? Have the same issue with Kern Switars 10mm, 26mm, and 50mm. (did some searching already but seems like this remains a perplexing issue) Thanks for any insight. Raaf
  5. Thanks for both responses @Jaron Berman and @Matthew Figueroa - these are the options I was looking for!
  6. Nevermind... Looks like the best option is to cut all the foam myself. I've got this. Thanks...
  7. Hi, Can anyone recommend a resource for getting a custom case created for a smaller sized 16mm camera and gear? The emphasis needs to be on shock absorption and dust resistance. Something like a pelican case with extensive, well fitted padding. Thanks for any recommended resources. Raaf
  8. Volker, I didn't receive anything here through direct messages or on my external email account - maybe you messaged someone else? I sent you a direct message here on this site and it shows that you have still not opened it. Do you mind looking for the message I sent and sharing the photos? Thanks! Raaf
  9. @Volker Bendt ? Anyone? 🙂 Still hunting for the apparently elusive Aspheron...
  10. @Borja Llorens - I'm interested in buying your Aspheron 5.5mm for Switar 10mm.
  11. Well that answers that! Again - thank you so much - I never want to wear out my welcome but your experience is invaluable.
  12. Thanks Dom - very helpful and now it's off! So now for the even dumber question. There is a big gear on the winding handle, that when replacing onto the camera, that keeps it offset at the same distance as when the Rex O Fader was in place. Is there a 1) way to remove that gear so that the handle fits more closely to the camera body? 2) is this just the way the handle is supposed to fit? ...or 3) there is another handle that should be used? Thanks again! Making progress!
  13. All, I need to remove my Rex O Fader to install the remote cable trigger. Does anyone have the instructions for this process? Thanks, Raaf
  14. Thanks Dom - this too is helpful. I'll test it across a range of focal lengths apertures - maybe it will be great wide open!
  15. Oh no SPAIN!!!! Anywhere but Spain. I am joking of course - all the good camera items seem to be in Europe. I just sent you a message - hopefully we can work something out. (My parents took me to Valencia when I was a kid - so beautiful!)
  16. I know they're hard to find...but if you've got a Bolex Aspheron 5.5mm wide angle for Switar 10mm that you're interesting in parting with, let's talk! Thanks!
  17. Thanks Dom - that's exactly information I was looking for and the brochure is a bonus. Now that you've confirmed, I'll just compensate at lower than 50mm. Again - thanks so much!
  18. Friends, I have an Angenieux 17-68mm F2.2 Type L2 that I have not yet tested with my H16 Rex 4. I am unfamiliar with decoding the Type designations of these lenses. This one is a Type L2 - for those knowledgable about these lens types, will the L2 work nicely with the reflex Bolex? If it isn't ideal, I'd appreciate any tips for compensation. Thanks! Raaf
  19. Apologies if this specific question has been asked and answered... Does the viewfinder image quality improve at all between the Rex 4 and the SBM? Thanks, Raaf
  20. @Dennis Toeppen - Have you tried a brisk walk around the block?
  21. Make sure you see The Love Witch and Jennifer's Body too. His amazing work is what led me to this site. The only thing that exceeds David Mullen's talent is his generosity in sharing his advice and experience with this community.
  22. Actually I think the caption on the first photo is correct - that it shows the Redondo Beach Bath House, and not The Venice Plunge. The Cameraman was filmed at The Venice Plunge and features a large white fountain as part of the set - I don't think we don't see that here. It plays in a key part where a naked Buster Keaton steals some pants from a larger female swimmer. I say this not to point out that you're not correct, but only to add some dimension to these very cool photos you've generously shared. Instead, I say it mostly to encourage people to go back and watch the film. Even cooler in motion. Buster's acting, his stunts...and his vision for cinema are so inspiring - and timeless. In so many moments where you see a familiar gag or setup in his films...you have to pause and understand that in many cases, this is the first time it was done on screen. The whole film is terrific and The Venice Plunge scene is a lot of fun. Early Los Angeles certainly had some interesting sites and Buster made it his cinematic universe. EDIT: Duh I didn't realize you attached the clip in your first post. I thought you were referring to the photo - so indeed, the Venice Plunge.
