    Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well ? I have a product commercial coming up and we are shooting 6 extremely detailed and accurate miniatures sets. I am feeling comfortable lighting the sets with my lighting knowledge, any tips or tricks about miniatures would still be appreciated! My main question comes regarding lighting the background.I will have 6 backgrounds of differentiating colour and subject matter (sunset, daytime, clouds, no clouds etc.). I want to see if anyone has any tips and tricks for lighting a single solid background sheet. I am assuming a majority of the time, an even light level from diffused sources will get me where I’m needing to be (similar to lighting a green screen or a cyc.) Really open to hearing everyone’s thoughts, knowledge and tips! thanks in advance !

    Hi All! My name is Thomas, I am a 21 year old Australian cinematographer living and working in NYC. I completed a one year cinematography program and went straight into working (working like a dog) to try and break into the industry. I have had some relatively good success in making progress in my career and in my own personal practice. Learning a lot about lighting, camera and general artistic philosophies along the way. In the past, I have had a few mentors in other fields, such as fashion photography, and the ability to be able to ask someone questions, grab a beer and talk about the craft we love, and to learn from masters of the craft is something I am really looking for in the cinematography world. If there is any DP's out there that are looking to offload their knowledge and help shape a younger DP? I would seriously love to jump on that opportunity! Let me know!
