  1. Nothing is foolproof, but I did something when I bought my K3. I checked the sellers feedback and emailed his buyers. I contacted 50 people and about 15 responded with good results. Might help, might not, but worth a try. I don't buy from 0 sellers. Good thread. Joe
  2. Mine is just the same. It won't effect the picture. These are issues of the viewfinder. If you look though the lens you will see no grain and no yellow. It is my understanding you are correct about the ground glass, If you google the camera, you can find an english manual online. Joe
  3. This time last year I sent off mt first roll of 16 and it came back "no image." Thanks to everyone's help I realized what I had done wrong. I sent the wrong roll to be processed. Well, I finally found the exposed roll in the freezer amd I just got it processed. I used my k3 with the zoom lens, I had no idea what I was doing, and I was shooting VNF stock. I did a crap job as a cameraman, but I am totally blown away by 16mm. Thanks again everybody. Joe
  4. Honestly, I'd just try it. A fellow in SF states that foodstores are accepting the 64t stocks. It is my understanding that WalMart will handle the new film. I'd just drop a test cart in an envelope and write "Super 8 movie film" on it. I don't really think it matters what you write on the bag. One time I wrote "K-14" on a spool of VNF film and it came back as a "Sorry, can't process k14". So where ever the bags do go, someone who knows a bit about it looks it over. If you askfor something the lab can't do, I believe the worst that would happen is that it will get sent back. I wouldn't bother to ask the people who work there. Yesterday I asked them if they processed slide film. The responce was "Process it into what?" They may not be the evil empire, but their training progam leaves alot to be desired.
  5. Tim, you've gotten good advice, I just thought I'd add my thoughts. You might consider just using the camera that you have for the moment. Just to make sure this is something you want to invest money in. You can get the 64t processed at Wal-mart for around 5 bucks. By all means get a projector. Before you buy, ask around. Many people have on in the garage or basement. Good luck :D Joe
  6. I read on a site that K3 make have problems with the Super Takumar lens. It seemed there was a jamming issue that made it hard to remove the lens. Don't know if it's true or not as I know nothing about the STs, but it might be worth double checking before you buy a Super Takumar. Good Luck with the project. Joe
