  1. Nope the short done on an 8,000 dollar budget. The website is http://www.whatisbroken.com .
  2. Why do you ask? Im a junior in high school and I take a 3 hour TV/Video class instead of electives and study halls. I live in New York like 30 min from NYC with no traffic.
  3. I have broken which is shot all on the 100 but I wanted to see what some of the members here could come up with so if anyone can give me some clips shot on 24fps I would really appreciate it. And David I will check out that movie thank you for the idea.
  4. That article was very good and helpful thanks for the link :D. Does anyone know if you can just shoot in 60i and use magic bullet to take it to 24p and then it will look as good as all the steps he did without using JUST after effects.
  5. If youve ever seen the show it looks stunning. Getting the effect of a scripted show on a reality show documentry. The number one camera I would say for documentry work if you can afford it. Anyone have any comments on the show and they effeciently use the 900s cinemode and 24p shooting. I personally love the show just looking at it with the scenery in california is worth watching. It has to be the perfect place to shoot a documentry if you want goregous imagery. Comments please. Dave
  6. What you could do if you have a good set designer is get an lcd screen and build it into an older tv set box. Allowing the simplicity of the lcd screen with the look of an older tv :D. It shouldn't be to hard either if you need it that bad then its worth doing it. Dave.
  7. Capture some footage and put it up here I would love to see how it looks anyway.
  8. I cant help you with your question but all I have to suggest is not shooting on 75fps. After like 1 min your gonna have to switch rolls. Wasting ALOT of money for something thats not that important. 24fps or 30 fps well do the same if not better capturing more light instead of being faster getting less light.
  9. Anyone have any 24p mode dvx100 clips that I can look at. Im either going to rent one to shoot my movie if they look good or dish out the dough for 16mm film I already have acess to a 16mm film camera but the film itself and developing is the expensive part for me so I want to see what my options are to getting it looking like a motion picture.
  10. Sorry of this was asked or has been posted before I couldnt find anything. Anyone have screen shots of a movie you made or seen that was shot on super-8 im trying to get a feel to see if its worth buying one.
  11. If your on such a low budget howd you get use of the bus and pay for extras?
  12. Amazing stuff guys it really looks awsome and gets that HOME MOVIE look out of wedding videos. Hey if they want a good looking wedding filmed they are gonna have to dish out the money.
  13. Ive decided im just gonna shoot with a DVX-100a andshoot 24p and cinemode I think it will open up my creative ideas more and not worrying about wasting film and if the film is coming out and having to wait to get it processed all that. If it comes out good and someone wants to found for film then thats what well happen but right now im gonna stick on a budget of around 400 with free actors and free locations usally my school.
  14. Well when I load I will probably just make the light so its barely enough to see and ill wait until my eyes get adjusted before loading so I can see better which probably will make a difference.
  15. I have already bought an old Canon AE-1 35mm SLR camera. Ive been shooting with it for a couple of months now. My first batch of film was ALL UNDEREXPOSED lol because I was shooting on 1/8 of a second shutter speed indoors when I found out thats WAY to slow for a humans hand with no tripod. So ive been getting better and better. I was wondering if film was the same way I just need to give it a lot of light and have the aperature set currently im guessing. The only thing with the super8 is that I already have acess to a 16mm and I dont want to buy a shitty super8 camera and get bad expierence.
  16. will the super8 look good though I always thought of 8mm being very low quality
  17. Comments on Brooklyn College or what you may have heard. Thanks Dave
  18. What does a Mattebox do? Sorry if thats dumb but I know what they are just dont know the benefits of them. Thank you Dave
  19. wow thank you for replaying so fast I think ill be posting a lot more here all the other boards are sooo SLOW if they even respond at all. So basiclly im look at a lot of money no matter what. Now is there any programs or companies that sponser student film makers out there? I only need like 500-1000 dollars. Also I guess I MUST do my homework before shooting film it seems like its very picky. How do I keep it from being underexposed I was looking at the kodak plus x 30 bucks for 100 ft isnt TO bad for film pricing. I dont want to think how much film costs for a full feature. UGHHH! Anyway if I can I may just shoot 24p and rent a DVX-100a who knows.
  20. My teacher has a 16mm camera (im in highschool) and said I can use it if I want to make a film. I looked up film prices and they are kinda high and I didnt know what reversal or that other kind ment. I say Kodac Plus-X BnW for 100 bucks for 400 feet at www.16mmfilm or something like that I forget. Anyway any suggestions on film and prices and ways of getting it and ways of getting it on my mac. Thanks for your help. Dave
  21. With the DVX100A camera using 24p mode you can simulate a film effect to a great extent. I think that camera is very suitable for a low budget music video.
