  1. Hey everyone, I've completed my feature (www.clockingpaper.com) and I secured a theater to have a private screening. The projector at the theater is a Christie Digital CP2000. They have a dvd player hooked up to it and I ran a screen test with a DL dvd that I encoded with multipass VBR using CCE. The dvd player was connected to the projector via component cable. The close ups looked pretty good but all of my wide shots looked semi-blurry and kind of pixelated. There are also some subtitles in the film and they look kind of blurry. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I was looking into up-sampling the resolution to fit the projector's native resolution and connecting to the projector via DVI straight out of a computer. Will this give me a massive increase in the video quality and solve my blurry problem with the wider shots? I know that there isn't much that I can do because my image was captured on miniDV using a DVX100a, but is there any way that I can increase the picture quality so I don't get blurry on my wide shots? Any ideas/feedback would be very helpful. Thank you. -Korhan
  2. Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in a while. I'm currently in post production on my independent feature shot with a dvx100a. Check out the site www.clockingpaper.com and download the "new trailer". Let me know what you guys think. -Korhan

  4. If i shuttle around my clips in either the source window or record window, it is at a good brightness level. Yet when i click "play" it get really dark and you can hardly see the footage. I want to be able to see my footage when it is being played. I am cutting on a 23.97 timeline and all my footage was shot in 24pa with the pulldown removed. For that reason i don't think i can output to a ntsc monitor without a mojo (if i understand correctly). Please help me find a solution so i can view my footage while it is being played. thank you
  5. i have only had experience with the premiere pro 1.5, FCP, and dps velocity NLEs. Does avid express pro HD support 24pa?
  6. Hey guys, I shot and cut a trailer for my upcoming film. It was my first time really playing with dvx100a and doing my own lighting setups. Tell me what you guys think. Go easy on me :) http://www.clockingpaper.com
  7. I've been reading on some other forums that the panasonic head cleaner can actually damage the heads and cost you a lot more than if you took it in to a servicer to get them cleaned. Has any one ever had problems with using the head cleaner on this camera?
  8. Has anyone ever used the Softscreen from http://indietoolbox.com to get a shallow DOF. The pics on the site look pretty good. I was considering buying it to use w/ my dvx. Anyone here ever try it? Is it worth it?
  9. Thomas Worth, are there any tutorials on the internet that you could lead me to so I could learn how to achieve a look like that in post?
  10. ZGC.com sells the Chrosziel 4X4 mattebox that can be used with this camera. You can also buy a modified anamorphic adapter to use along with the mattebox. I'm sure you could find it at a lot of different sites. But they have an informative diagram at this site. http://www.zgc.com/zgc.nsf/0/1dcef929111d7...d7?OpenDocument
  11. Getting runtime errors everytime I mouse over a window
  12. Doesn't Premiere Pro 1.5 support the pulldown and 24p output?
  13. Robert Rodriguez............used to be a filmmaker and now a videomaker?
