  1. Hi, I've got an Eclair Npr with a Angenieux 12-120 zoom but I was looking for some c-mount primes to use. I'm still very new to this and I didn't want to worry about getting an adapter for other lens mounts. I was hoping some of you might have a few Prime C-mount lenses that are favorites. I don't have a big budget, and I'm shooting for lenses that are faster than the f2.2 Zoom. I might have missed a prior thread in the forum but I didn't see one. Thanks for any help.

  3. Hi! My name is Pietro Brunelleschi. young dp from Italy. Recently my Eclair npr motor broke down and now I'm looking for another one in Europe while I'm trying to bring the broke one back to life. I don't know if in Europe there are lots of motors for Eclair Npr, but I know there are like 12 kind of dirrent motor compatibles that can work with her. This one down ( image ) is my current motor. This is a request of help , of motor, ( to buy if someone has one to sell ) and also of advice if someone knows something that can help me with it. Thanks to all. Pietro Brunelleschi
  4. Looking to buy an Eclair NPR. PM me if you have any leads. Thanks~
  5. I've asked around, read the manual, read online, called techs, and still can't get a straight answer on this one. I have an Eclair NPR with the Beala (Beauviala) crystal motor .. the manual states if the light goes on, sync is achieved and if the light is off, sync cannot be guaranteed. Elsewhere I see the exact opposite, and that the light is a warning that sync has been lost. I know this is because of the other motors that were made afterwards having different specs, but can anyone please tell me what the truth is on this one? Thank you!!
  6. Hello, I am looking for an Eclair NPR Crystal Sync motor. My motor had some issues and I cannot rely on it for filming. It seems almost impossible to find one these days on eBay or in any store that sold it in the past. I am asking here to see if anyone can help to shine some light on my search. ? Thank you, Leo
  7. Yesterday I shot my first ever roll in my new Eclair NPR. It was a 400' roll of 50d, a short skit with some friends. It was really fun shooting with it and the camera was great to use, I'll remember this first roll. What were your first experiences with the Eclair NPR? What did you shoot? How did it go?
  8. Hi everyone, I recently bought a very early Eclair NPR from France, serial no 199. The lens turret on it is a c-mount on both bottom and top mounts which is quite uncommon. Does anybody know where I could get a turret that has the Cameflex mount or know someone who might have one or a parts camera that I could have one off? Kind regards Aren
  9. Hey everyone, I recently purchased an Eclair NPR off of eBay and I've got some questions about it. I'm trying to find a battery solution for it. I've read through other posts and I see that there are a lot of different routes I could go. So far I've been looking at this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048193-REG/bescor_fp_12vatm_12v_lithium_ion_battery.html as well as this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/126161-REG/Cool_Lux_BC3054_BC_3054_Battery_Belt_LCE.html. I would love to hear everyones thoughts on these! My second question is about a piece of gear that came with the camera. It was in a pouch labeled "Video Tap" and when I opened it up the only thing in there was this weird viewfinder. I attached some pictures of it. There's no markings or writing on it that tell me what it is or what company it is. If anyone knows please let me know!
  10. I’m soon going to buy an Eclair NPR, but I want to confirm first: can modern lens mounts be adapted to c-mount? There are a lot of adapters available (like this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/577757-REG/bower_va304_c_mount_for_nikon.html), but most forum threads I’ve seen insist on getting the cameflex mount changed to PL instead of adapting lenses to the c-mount. Is the c-mount too weak to hold non-16mm lenses? Does it not accommodate enough space for other mounts?

  12. I just got an Eclair NPR for a great price, and it came with this Perfectone Type MC 1440 C motor. I have done a lot of research and I couldn't fine any information about this motors. I read all the topics that I could find here in the forum and I found some interesting but mixed information. I understand the original motor didn't have any lights or switches. This motor that I have has a little bulb and it has a switch, for that reason I guess the motor was modified, but I don't know if it's Crystal Sync and I have no idea what the switch does. The XLR connector is a 5 Pin connector. I read at least two versions of the manual and it doesn't mention 5 pin connectors, it mentions that the Perfectone has a 4 pin connector. I learned by searching the threads here that some motors worked with an external box, but I have no idea what was it's function, I saw a picture of one of those boxes and it has a 4 pin Cannon connector too, so I'm confused. As shown in the picture of the removed Cannon connector at the base there are 5 cables coming out of the motor, I guess the two thin green ones carry pulse tone and the 3 thicker ones are the most important in terms of power, one is red which is the thickest one, one is purple and one is orange. Purple is soldered to pin number 1, orange goes trough the main power switch and ends up at pin number 4 and the red one goes trough the switch as well and ends up soldered to pin number 5. I'm going to test with a multi meter, but just looking at the circuit I think red is +, purple is - (coonected to pin 1 as the current standard) but I have no idea what the orange one does. Of course I want to replace the connector with a 4 pin standard so any help with that is welcomed too.
  13. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase an orientable Angenieux viewfinder for the Eclair NPR. I have the original Kinoptic viewfinder which is being laser brightened soon, but I would love to have an orientable vf in the kit. Let me know if anyone has any leads! Thank you, Tristan
  14. Hi peeps, I just posted this lens on eBay, so if you are looking for a C-mount lens that will cover the S16 frame here is one. I only ship to the lower 48 United States. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153231296621 Thanks for looking
  15. Hey everyone, I’ve decided to sell my Ultra16 converted Éclair NPR kit. I bought it in 2008, and sent it to Bernie O’Doherty at www.super16inc.com for a simple clean, lube, alignment and convertion to Ultra16 aspect ratio. After that I shot about 15 rolls and then put it in my bedroom closet. It’s been there since and unfortunately I’m no longer shooting with it. I charged the battery and the camera runs, but I don’t have any film to run through it. The motor is a Perfectone. It has a Tobin TXM-6 crystal sync with 24 or 30 fps. The motor has a metal tripod base that can be removed for easier shoulder carrying. The lens is an Angenieux 12-120mm zoom f 2.2-22 with lens hood. There is also has a C-mount lens mount on the turret. It has a Kinoptik viewfinder (the shutter on the eyepiece is a little slower to close so some oil would maybe help that out). Included are two 400ft magazines. One made in England. One made in France. Included is a 12 volt battery with an over-the-shoulder pouch and power cord. The whole kit comes in two metal flight cases with foam padding (one for the magazines, one for the body/lens/battery). The camera is in good condition and is already converted for widescreen, either Ultra 16 or Super 16 can be achieved with the modified gate. Also included are rails, IndiFocus Pro Follow Focus with assorted gears, and a Harrison changing bag. I’ve uploaded some pics of it HERE. If you have any questions or want more pictures please let me know. If you’re interested let me know where you are and I’ll take it to get a shipping quote. I’m asking $1000 U.S. or best offer. Thanks, Scott
  16. I recently purchased an Eclair NPR with Perfectone motor from some one who doesn't know much about it. While practicing to adjust the shutter with some stripped clear film leaded in the mag, I noticed that the film gate covers the film aspect and one perforation side. Does this mean that the camera has been modified to super 16?
