What's New? This is a brand new Natural Rec709 conversion LUT that I've created specifically for the Gen 5 Color Science as requested by fellow filmmakers. Humbled that so many put in a request after the success of the original P4K LUT and BMD OG Rec709 LUT. Thank you. LUT Features ALL NEW Kodak Vision 2 Cine Curve * softer highlight roll-off preserved shadow detail balanced saturation organic (camera) colors *Not a mathematically accurate film response curve. More an obsessive compulsive interpretation on my part based on analysis of numerous film chart data. Download Page: https://bulentfilms.yolasite.com/ (Scroll down to Blackmagic Camera LUTs)

Hi everyone, I think I have a some basic understanding on how LUTs or film stocks work in general, however it gets very confusing with all the variety of film emulation LUTs available and searching in Google or through thousands of topics doesn't really help. My question is how these LUTs actually work and how are they created? Are they a combination of negative stocks and print stocks? For example I see a lot of films shot on Kodak Vision 5207 and printed on 2383. According to Film Convert "FilmConvert applies a combined emulation for print, negative and a viewing simulation for projected film. Isn't the Kodak 5207 very different from the 2383 as far as the colorimetry is concerned? Thank you.

Looking to mimic 320T 5277,with a custom picture LUT,on my C300 Mii. I have the film stocks spatial frequency, relative log exposure, and wavelength (nm) and access to a testing facility. Could this info be transformed into a custom picture setting? I havent seen any exact LUT,in my research.

Hi, I'm currently in pre-production on a "kitchen-sink" social realism drama and I'm looking at films like 'Fish Tank' and 'This is England' as visual references for the look of this film. I want to use the flat and dry colour palettes used in these films to create a similar mood and atmosphere for my film. Eventhough my influences are from an 80's style, this is a creative choice for a film with a contemporary story. I will be testing the Sony F55 and the Blackmagic distagon lenses next week to see if this would be a possible substitute for shooting 16mm film as this would be too expensive. I've been told that this would change my depth of field and that I'll be shooting with a 2x crop. The majority of this short film will be shot ecu - mids with occasional wides as it's quite a close and intimate story. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice in regards to my approach? Here are a few visual references.
