  1. Hi all! I'm selling my fully functioning Arriflex 16BL with its original lens (Angenieux 12-120mm) and plenty of original accessories. Quite a unique collection of items that include: - 3 400ft magazines (two functioning - one untested) - 1 1000ft coax magazine - Blimp for prime lenses - Minilock for crystal sync (untested - motor in the camera is different) - Two motors (untested, one is 42v for use with power supply) - Camera top handle - Multitude of filters (can provide more details by email) - Plenty of magazine cores for the 400ft plastic cores - Remote control for camera - 4-pin XLR to D-tap for power - Original box - Power supply for 42v motor - Periscope viewfinder for when operating with a shoulder rig Most recently used for a short film that was shot in 2022 and 2023, no issues at all with the camera. Very stable gate, great image. I can ship to UK and maybe EU but collection in London is preferred. This is the eBay link for the camera: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374789398236 There are some pictures on the eBay listing too. Happy to receive offers through eBay or directly on here if you prefer. Sad to see this one go because I really love shooting on the 16BL, but I'm selling it to finance my next short film!
  2. Hi everybody, here is Luca from Milano, Italy. How are you? I'm a camera technician and I've bought an Arriflex 16BL on Ebay (camera and 1 mag from UK, 2 mag and Angenieux 10x12 with blimp from DE) that I want to completely refurbishing, both lens and camera. The camera was ok, I've tested with a battery and everything was working good, and not too noisy! The lens unfortunately has lots of fungus inside, so I'm gong to completely restore it. I'm writing here because maybe (MAYBE..) it could be interesting for someone, or if someone need explications about the camera, or even if someone has tips and suggestion for my work, I'll be pleased! My aim is to make the camera in perfect conditions, both esthetically and working one (it works, but it needs a good cleaning). I would like to add a crystal sync unit, that it will probably will Arduino based - Swiss Made (since I'm Swiss eheh). For the zoom, that has a good mechanic but bad optical part, I'll extract all the lenses, clean them and recompose everything. So, first of all I'm un-assambling all the mags, the blimp and the camera in order to divide all the elements: the ones that needs to be re-anodyze will be sent to the lab, and the mags and the camera will be repainted with the original wrinkle effect. The problem is the serigraphies, that seems to be painted OVER the paint. I don't want to loose them, so I'm thinking for a solution but if someone has a suggestion.. please say it! :D
  3. Hi friends. I have an Arriflex 16BL with tobin TXM-15 sync that I tried to use today. Its worked many a times before in the past. Today I hit the button to shoot; and nothing happens. What the hell? I take the mag off to see if it was jammed or something; and more smoke than cheech and Chongs car came wafting out of the gear area. Gosh darn it. I take the motor housing off and I see this- 5amp blown fuse. Okay but where was the smoke coming from?? My inching knob is broken as well. Any suggestions? I have all the pieces. The motor still turns by hand, have yet to get the replacement DC fuse. Questions now 1. The motor shows 9,5V motor. I have a 12v 7.5mah battery. Direct leads to a power cable, to Tobin system. Am I over-powering the camera with this battery? Or does the tobin system have some sort of conversion from 12v to 9.5v for the motor? 2. What do you think was the cause of the smoking? Upon inspection of what I could disassemble, I see no melted resistors or plastic or wires, etc. see pictures. 3. Suggestions on replacement of the inching knob? **** pictures to come****
  4. Selling an Arriflex 24 FPS sync motor. I recently purchased the motor for my Arri 16S, only to learn it was for the Arri 16BL once it arrived. Like most vintage Arri products it's made mostly of metal and pretty much feels indestructible. I have no way of testing it but it looks to be in decent shape on the outside. All of the pins are accounted for on the power input and the plastic teeth on the motor wheel are intact. https://www.ebay.com/itm/362444487455?ul_noapp=true
  5. $150 Very convenient item to have if you own an Arri 2C or 3C or 16S or 16M or 16BL or 16SR. The rubber eyecup (in v. good condition) has a spring so when you take your eye away from it, two doors inside the eyepiece close, blocking light and preventing you from accidentally flashing your film while rolling. Diopter adjusts and locks normally. Cosmetics are ok for the age. Glass is pretty clean - a couple of schmutz marks on the inside of the "rear" element as you can see in one of the pictures. Not visible when looking at an image. Located in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks for looking.
