Premium Member John Hoffler Posted February 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 hey all, i have to write up an invoice for a class stating pay for 3 days of work as a DP of a short we shot. I'm having a hard time finding any info online to help me decide on my day rate. Any help would be appreciated. John Hoffler
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted February 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 Are you actually being paid for this or are you just doing it for class? The rates a DP make vary wildly normally and will often depend on if they're union or not. For example, I normally charge $500/day base 10 with a 3 day week. That's just me, though and I am not union.
Premium Member John Hoffler Posted February 25, 2009 Author Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 it's for a class. I didn't get paid for the shoot... :( it was a S16 10-12 min short shot over 3 days.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted February 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 Ahh gotcha. If you'd like, shoot me an e mail, adrian at adriansierkowski dot com. I can send you a template invoice I use as a .pdf if you'd like to see it .
Premium Member Gus Sacks Posted February 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 What it would be for a student film that could pay and afford S16... 150/day for 3 days... so 450.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted February 25, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 I understood it more as a "charge them as though this isn't a student short" type thing. That's just me, though.
