Gregg MacPherson
Hey Tim, I quite liked some changes I saw in the way the forum works. Filtering for new posts for example. Some of the small very light grey text you use is a bit hard to read, like the text that identifys the person who originally started a topic. Cheers, Gregg. Chris Millar
Clicked on the tick to see what would happen: "Oops! Something went wrong! [#10127] You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" Some might say that about a few members here as the standard case :D
Premium Member Keith Walters Posted November 4, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted November 4, 2012 While I was uploading a new photo, I couldn't get past the "crop" function, and a box came up asking if I want to disable Javascript. I did that to see if it would fix the problem. It didn't but now I keep getting a message "Javascript Disabled - some functions may not work. Please enable Javascript". I can't get the WYSIWYG editor to work any more. But I can't find any way of re-enabling Javascript.
Tim Tyler
Test image upload.I can't find any "crop" functionality. I'll look into the iPhone compatibility. There is a mobile skin for the forum, but I turned it off due to a bug that made it hard to get back to the regular skin. Update: Just turned it back on as it seems to be okay. Use the "Change Theme" link on the bottom-left of the site. I appreciate the feedback on this newer version of the forum software. It will probably take a little while to dial it in. Please be as detailed in your reports as possible. I just disabled the flash image uploader for now to keep things simple.
Chris Millar
Sorry! "iPhone fail" referred to my clumsy fingers making a double post... Which I edited the first to what you read as 'it's not working in iphone' - it is working... unless of course that 'positive vote' thing is iPhone related, but I have no more reason than I do to believe that that is the case. Make sense? no? Sorry, I've been reading too many technical manuals ....
Premium Member Keith Walters Posted November 4, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted November 4, 2012 I can't find any "crop" functionality.. That was associated with Personal Photo upload, presumably because they have to be square. There seems to be no going back once you've selected a different photo to upload, and I don't have any pictures of me on this computer
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 10, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted November 10, 2012 Just hit an interesting little bug. When posting a vimeo link-- but not to a vimeo video; for example to a search page, the forum keeps treating it as though it should be an embed, unless you remove the http:// from it. even putting it as a URL by inserting link, same thing happened. If it winds up driving anyone else crazy, there's your fix. pull off the http for example: http-colon-slashslash-vimeo.com/search?q=5D+MKII____ becomes: http://vimeo.com/search?q=5D+MKII but pull off http:// and you get vimeo.com/search?q=5D+MKII
Tim Tyler
The forum performs a basic Search-and-Replace on common media links like Vimeo and YouTube in an attempt to properly display them in a web media player within a post. Since the Vimeo links are ultra-basic (domain + video_ID) it's impossible for the forum's simple replace function to know when a Vimeo link is intended for anything besides a video. Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 10, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted November 10, 2012 Ahh the joys of computer's making choices ;) No worries on my end, truncating the http:// is pretty easy; just wanted to put it out there for anyone else. Gregg MacPherson
Tim, To fix the problem of people multiple posting the same message, is it possible to automatically delete all but one of the posts and politely notify the post auther? This is a great forum. Cheers, Gregg
Tim Tyler
The most effective way to remove duplicate posts is to "Report" the post and an admin will remove it ASAP.
