Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
If you're shooting in the winter in NYC, work some steam into it. Even in the daytime, good steam possibilities. (If you do use steam, don't forget to give me some credit for creatives.)
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted January 24, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted January 24, 2019 Last time I was in New York, I was disappointed by the lack of steam. The subject makes me think of the late Bill DiPietra, who posted here, and who I met last time I was there. He explained that the loss of steam was seen as wasteful, but we felt it was worth it. Walking through Manhattan late at night, the streets wet with rain and the fog descending into the canyons of buildings, was memorable. P
Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
Some crazy (natural) colors with some of the steam works!

In Dec 2018 there was not much steam. But I attributed it to the weather being warmer. Since I am not in NYC full time I can't say why lack of steam. But fog is good to shoot in too. They all add drama to the scene. If you got good acting, then they usually just supercharge it unless they are excessive and overtake things. Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted January 24, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted January 24, 2019 That's an LED video wall, isn't it?
Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
Dunno. Didn't pay any attention to it. I had some other shots in the same place. They had some pictures slightly visible on the screen. So I guess it is a LED billboard. It made for some good lighting! The other shots are not as nice or colorful. (...and when I say natural color, I mean not post processed color.) Edited January 24, 2019 by Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
