Recently used the cooke 18-100. Loved it but heavy! Is there a lighter alternative / modern lens with filters?

Used it on a dana dolly and easy rig. Doable but want something lighter for gimbal use. Curious as to why they haven't made anything lighter recently.

Have you tried the Angenieux 20-120mm zoom? It has similar aesthetics to the time period. I don't have on in the office but I'm sure it's at least 2Kg lighter.

I don't feel you can quantify and reproduce the look of an older lens with a modern one with filtration. There's nuances like flaring/glaring/coating/field curvature/falloff etc. which offer an inherent optical quality or "look" which can't be replaced with just a filter.

Just my 2 cents.
