Johanan Pandone Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I grew up using lowel pro lights for hair and kickers. Always wanted dedolights, never could afford them. I no longer want dedo lights. I want a modern bicolor LED fresnel in a compact form factor. There is aputure ls60x And there are the knockoffs: Generay torpedo and came tv boltzen. Any experience with these? I want bicolor. If I have to gel a light I might as well use mole or arri 300
Victoria Sagady Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Aputure 300x LS with the Fresnel Modifier is my pick. It will never be the same as a tungsten fresnel but it comes close. They also have fresnel modifiers for the 600x that are a bit better.
JB Earl Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 IF you're looking specifically for a very compact light, the new Smallrig spot works pretty well. Not heavy duty by any means though. I also have a CLAR 30 spot that's pretty heavy duty but daylight only. Both of those use optics like the DEDO.
Johanan Pandone Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Are you referring to the samllrig rc30b? I have it. I love it. If it didn't feel like a toy I would buy several more. I am basically looking for that exact formfactor with a better build quality.
JB Earl Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 yes they work really well especially for the price. The only other options all have a separate ballast. the Boltzen is standalone, but doesn't have as good optics for cutting
