  1. Are you referring to the samllrig rc30b? I have it. I love it. If it didn't feel like a toy I would buy several more. I am basically looking for that exact formfactor with a better build quality.
  2. If you just need a little bit shim with aluminum tape
  3. Aww don't feel bad. I'm probably projecting my own struggles with spill light onto your question about black point....
  4. You generally shoot macro at the smallest aperture possible or nothing is in focus. It takes lots of light. It's two different lighting setups. No way around it
  5. Crushing blacks excessively has side effects. Might want to control the lighting better so you don't have spill on the planes you want black. And if you want to check your work to make sure there is no information in the blacks export the final cut then bring it back into the editor and increase the exposure to check if there is still info there
  6. You need to learn some basic carpentry and electrical skills so you can add different Light fixtures to whatever ceiling you're working with. Im talking about practical light fixtures from the hardware store. Thats how the look you want is actually done. You want to light with practicals you gotta be able to put them there. Start by buying an rgb led flood bulb like the "hubspace" line they carry at home depot. And buy a flush mount porcelain bulb socket and wire an extension cord to it. Now tape it to the ceiling and use posterboard to make a snoot to flag the spill off the walls. Thats how the moody shit is really done. The art department and the carpenters are the ones that make that look happen. You can paint the extension cord so it blends with the color of the ceiling and the wall. The next step is to get comfortable removing and replacing an existing fixture with one more suited to the look. The final step is to learn how fish wires through walls and ceilings to add a circuit where ever you need it and no cords in the way.
  7. Can you post some stills from some moody shots you already made?
  8. From a technical perspective, what do you see wrong with the grade in this video? I was aiming for a very saturated look but I feel like the colors don't pop the way I want them to
  9. 20 skypanels is bigger than 20x20' how will you accomplish this?
  10. Please share some of your favorite stills?
  11. I think the question you're really asking is: "How much light does my sensor need to reproduce the scene the way I intend" You can only know by testing it yourself
  12. There is nothing in this image I don't love. I don't have a problem with the fact that her hair fades into the background. I love everything about this image. Why do we place such importance on separating subject from background?
  13. Looking for a very thin cob light with bowens mount so I can fly an aputure lantern overhead in tight spaces. The problem is all the compact fixtures have a shitty 1/4-20 thread which attaches the plastic housing to a plastic tilt head and I don't think those thing can support a lantern
  14. Got a cartoni action for 100$ Anyone ever use one? Really just bought for the legs. Wonder if the head is worth buying a 100$ plate for?
