Dan McCormick
Hey Is there anywhere on the internet that will correlate the footcandles a standard film light will give off (for example, a 2kW 10 feet from the subject will read xx footcandles). Not of vital importance for the actual shoot, but it would help with lighting plans and figuring out what lights I need to get hold of. Thanks Dan McCormick

Thanks Dan McCormick You can get all that, including footcandles at full spot vs. full flood at x distance, from the manufacturer's spec. sheets. John Hall
You can sometimes find information on companies' websites. Mole Richardson has Product Spec sheets for some of it's lights (including tungsten fresnels). As does Kino-Flo. That should give you a rough idea of the output of most lights you'll be using. If you're willing to make the investment (a.k.a. cough up the cash) he ASC manual is the defacto bible on information about specific lights. Xavier Plaza
hi Dan you could try at arri website, www.arri.com , they have a interactive photometric calculator, tungten, hmi, fluorescent lights, then you could find interesting information available in footcandles or lux in differences situations (spot/flood) best Xavier Plaza Director of Photography
Jonathan Bowerbank
That photometric calculator is pretty awesome, if it is indeed accurate. It seemed so at least, when I put in a couple of setups that I'd done in the past with some Arri lights. Michael Morlan
I address the use of manufacturer's spec tables in helping choose lights in my article "Choosing the Right Light" As an example, a classic Mole Baby 407 spec sheet may be found here. Hope that helps. Michael
