Corey Fontana
An unreliable source mentioned to me the other the day that Panasonic was currently developing a "big brother" to the HVX200. Can anybody confirm this rumor? And if so, where can I find the specs, because I have not yet found anything on this subject. -Corrison
Timur Civan
Yes its true. Its a 2/3" 5 slot P2 camcorder. Essentially everything an HVX can do, in 2/3" formfactor. Probably going to be VERY nice. An unreliable source mentioned to me the other the day that Panasonic was currently developing a "big brother" to the HVX200. Can anybody confirm this rumor? Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted February 5, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 5, 2007 Hi, Wouldn't that just be a P2 version of the Varicam, which has been on the cards for some time? Phil
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted February 6, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 6, 2007 Hi, Wouldn't that just be a P2 version of the Varicam, which has been on the cards for some time? Phil I think everyone's probably thinking of the HPX2000, a P2 version of the HDX900. It's on the Panasonic site. Doesn't have all the variable frame rates of the HVX/Varicam, though. http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/s...odel=AJ-HPX2000
Mitch Gross
There's also the HPX500, which is 2/3" but uses a lower resolution chip than the Varicam/HDX900/HPX2000. I advised against it because I think it muddies the waters of the product line.
