Jacob Van Balen
I was wondering, is the Canon HV20 ultra-low budget camera any good? How much are adapters to make it more like a Stedicam? Tripod mount? Can you get an adapter to change lenses?
Jamie Lewis
I was wondering, is the Canon HV20 ultra-low budget camera any good? How much are adapters to make it more like a Stedicam? Tripod mount? Can you get an adapter to change lenses? Great camera. It's very light and you get lots of shake hand held. A Glidecam 2000 is around $300 plus a good vest $1500 or the Glidecam arm $150 (A package for the 2000, plus monitor and ar Tripods vary greatly in price. $1300 for a 35mm adapter kit. Matt Sandstrom
it's a great camera if you don't mind no manual control. you can lock the auto system though so if you get a 35mm adapter like the letus35 flip you have a fun tool. hardly professional but fun, if you're into low budget music videos and shorts. i'm mainly using mine as a deck, but the plan is to get the letus. the non flipping adapters require drilling holes in the camera body to reach the display flip switches, not my cup of tea really. /matt
Antonio Bunt
Matt, do you have by any chance the letus web link? Thanks!
Brant Collins
I have been looking into the hv-20. After seeing this adapter and test footage I think this is what I will get. http://www.cinevate.com/website/index.php http://www.owamba.de/rheiler/clips/BrevisHV20-50mm.mov just amazing for the price. Leo Anthony Vale
...if you get a 35mm adapter like the letus35 flip you have a fun tool. The real advantage of such a camera is it's small size. The 35mm adaptor is larger than it and will make it front heavy. It'd be like converting a pistol to a grenade launcher.

It'd be like converting a pistol to a grenade launcher. There's a real cheap shoulder stabilizer called the Spider Brace that would work great for that setup. Plus since it's such a small camera it will make your handheld work a lot steadier as well.
