Robert Hughes
Yes, it shows the people and landscape in an entirely different (and much more friendly) way than we're accustomed to seeing from TV news videos. Pretty nice for a 40 year old camera. Was it originally shot in S16 or framed in widescreen from an R16 original?

Jeremy Rumas
beautiful and inspiring. its interesting how even at such poor resolution, the warmth and organic qualities of the film footage shine through, as well as the great camera work. its definitely not an easy endeavor to go out and capture such natural footage in a foreign place. thanks for posting that. Douglas Hunter
Don't be suprised that a bolex can produce beautiful footage. Some of the Bolex lenses are wonderful (switar 10mm for example) and with contemporary film stocks the sky (or 30 seconds, which ever comes first) is the limit! Aaron Hultin
A fresh, friendly outlook on a region portrayed primarily as a disease ridden, poverty stricken wasteland. The music added a lot to this footage, without it, the clip may have been less engaging. Beautiful work. PS - There is quite a bit more 16mm footage from this same person, check the "More from this user" tab on the right hand side of the screen, by the thumbnails.
