Premium Member Tim Carroll Posted October 13, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted October 13, 2007 "Best of luck." Ever since that RED camera came out, 35mm PL prime sets are scarce as hen's teeth. This set on eBay may be relisted, and you could pick them up for about $16,000. Zeiss Standard Prime Set on eBay And Bill down at www.provideofilm.com has a five lens set of Zeiss Super Speeds, the T1.4 lenses that he is selling for $30,000. Those are about all I have been able to find. I think all the sets Visual Products had are now gone, but you could check with them. It's a real tough situation right now because that RED camera has caused a feeding frenzy for the older Zeiss and Cooke glass. -Tim
Ken Martini
Tim, thanks for the lead. I have a Red on order like many others. I have a Cooke 18-100 which puts me a little ahead of the crowd. It is such a huge piece of glass, not too good off sticks. Some guy in Nigeria said he has a set of super speeds for $5,000. I just need to Western Union him the money. I told him OK if he throws in a lottery ticket.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted October 16, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted October 16, 2007 Just to chime in, I dunno how well it'd cover a 35mm frame, but you might want to check in with optar illumina. They make good primes for the S16mm market which are PL mount.
