Jonathan Bowerbank
So Jamie Metzger mentioned to me the possibility of there being a get together and BBQ for SF camera people. Maybe something in GG Park one of these Saturdays. With the biz being so slow right now, I'm sure we all have a bit of extra time. So I'm just curious to get a head count of people who'd like to come. :)

Jonathan Bowerbank
Knew I could count on you guys ;) The idea came about when both Jamie and I answered the same Craigslist ad for a DP, and the guy sent out a form letter to all the DP's who applied, but we could see EVERY DP's name and email address in the CC area, ha ha! Jamie Metzger
^^ Hahah, I was thinking that when I move to a new city, I am going to post an ad for a feature with really enticing details, and get a poop ton of people's contacts just from that. Yes it's deceitful, but who cares....HAHAH. We shall do this BBQ very soon, hopefully when the rain subsides consistently enough. John, I'll be in touch with you and we can figure this junk out. Jamie BTW, don't know if I showed you guys these photos....
Jonathan Bowerbank
BTW, don't know if I showed you guys these photos.... Is that incredible piece of glass attached to a Brevis adapter? Wow, that's so incredibly pointless, ha ha! Still, I'm curious how it looked.
Jamie Metzger
It wasn't entirely pointless...that is a cooke 10-100mm zoom. It would make shooting a bit faster than switchin primes all the time. It vignetted pretty bad, but I'm sure with enough tinkering, I could have fixed that. Well, I guess if you're gonna do it, you might as well get the best lens you can to compensate. So yeah, not necessarily pointless. It's all about DoF sometimes, eh? ;)

That's not really surprising - the Cooke 18-100 only covers academy 35, not Super 35. Were you able to zoom in and get rid of the vignetting on the ground glass? I'm sure you had fun handholding that beast. :) Matt, at least you're with us in spirit - I'll think of you every time I take a bite of spare rib. BTW, the weather's been really terrible around these parts lately - kinda reminds me of Phil's constant rants about London...
Jonathan Bowerbank
We should make this happen before March 10th. I'll be in San Diego for a month.
Jamie Metzger
I'm thinking if we do this, it's going to be a very "broke" theme. I'd like to wait a while so I can put aside some money to get goodies...but I guess the first one will have to be B.Y.O.B.
Jonathan Bowerbank
Weather sucks anyways, we should definitely do it in May or something :)
Jamie Metzger
Hey, we are definitely going to do this. If you'd like, start telling people to email me at: cinemeet@gmail.com I will put them on an email list and keep everyone posted. I do not think we should limit anyone from coming. The more the merrier!
Anton Delfino
Is this just limited to camera folk? If you're planning it for May and will allow G&E peeps, I'd be down for it. - anton

Besides, we'd need you guys to actually lift the grill, set it in place... :)

Jonathan Bowerbank
Dude, what about the feature in San Diego? Did it get pushed back? Nope, it's stayin' around town, which is quite awesome :) I'll be commuting to Marin County every day for the month of shooting.
