I was browsing cinematography websites and came across these two. They both seem very interesting in joining. I wanted to know if they are worth it. Have good lighting diagrams and tuts.

http://www.efplighting.com/?EFPlighting%26...%3BIntroduction seems pretty cool, but from what I can see it's mainly aimed towards "interview lighting" which I won't be doing any of.

http://www.digitalcinemasociety.org/ is nice as well, and have a trailer for a narrative lighting which I'm more interested in.

Have any of you heard good things about any of them? EFP is $50.00 a year and DCS is $30 a year. I wouldn't mind doing both, but prefer one more than other if you have any opinions.

I haven't found anything yet that I can't learn fro this forum and/or CML. If you want to donate to either or both, the money is better spent, IMO.

Both sites are just amazing fountains of knowledge.

I was apart of the DCS for a little while. They are a good community and have good workshops, I'm sure they have been offering more as of late. Unfortunately, I have fallen out of the community for other priorities; I would probably join again.

Hi Rich You're right I was browsing too I guess 2 years ago and founded http://www.efplighting.com/ before they start charging the membership, it was a great educational non profit website, looks great, lots info but as you said they have more basics set ups interviews studio/outdoor, packshots, basic lightning. They have more Tv lighting than motion pictures or series.

This year I was tempted to become a member on www.digitalcinemasociety.org because as you said i found this great trailer and search in this website looks they have values info more professional motion picture..., but then I felt the commitment with this great site (cinematography.com), i think as soon as posible i want to become member (Sustaining Member )...

As someone say long life to cinematography.com
