Xavier Plaza
It looks like they light only the background avoiding the glass. Tha glass "appears lighting" because it is transparent. I don't see any reflection on the glass and look how the edge of the glass is dark... I don't think they use direct light on the glass but perhaps using bouncing lateral light avoid reflective light... BTW Rémy Martin great Cognac ;) Xavier This link perhaps help you http://www.arri.com/infodown/light/broch/a...ook_english.pdf
Premium Member Chad Stockfleth Posted May 6, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted May 6, 2008 the trick to lighting glass, like all reflective surfaces is to light what they reflect, not the glass themselves. trying bringing some white cards in to bounce light off of. that will give you nicer highlights on the edges. check out this orange juice ad at about the 20sec mark:

Premium Member Chris Keth Posted May 7, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted May 7, 2008 The most important thing about glassware is this: You are not lighting the glass. You are refracting black and white materials through the glass.;)
