looking for a 2perf camera

Hi all

 

I today found myself in a situation I thought was nearly impossible.

 

I´m in preproduction for a feature and we find out today that

the camera we boked will be four! weeks late. Crazy I know, the camera are for some reason stuck on a shoot in russia. Help!!!!!!!!!

Any ideas where we can get another sync 2perf for our first weeks.

We need the camera from 12th june-4th july.

Highspeed serie also of interest.

 

The shoot is in sweden but the hole europe is of interest.

 

Of course we can go 3perf the first weeks but budget is tight and I really need that extra

perf film.

 

Any ideas, please!!!!!!

Dont know where your camera was from ? But have you tried Arri they have 2 perf Arricams for hire .

Hi john.

I know about the arricams, but the problem is that they are a bit expensive,

in that case it´s probably more economic to rent an older camera and go 3perf.

Or try and find someone with a 2-perf Kinor! IIRC Bruce Taylor www.indi35.com rents them out. He might know someone in Europe who does...

Perhaps that's who you are renting the camera from that's going to be late, I don't know. Last I heard he had about 6 Kinor bodies converted to 2 perf.

 

I have one of his conversions (2 perf, vid tap and modern electronics) and it is a very nice piece of work. The Kinors are limited to 40-50fps for speed unfortunately.

 

I could rent my rig to you, but I think the shipping costs to and from Los Angeles would equal or exceed the additional costs of shooting in 3 perf.

Yes, it`s anders Bankes cameras that´s going to be late, all of them kinors and bl4!

I will have the producer to check shipping costs and contact you if.

Problem solved!

 

The rental house manage to dig up another camera for our first weeks.

so know I can cintinue to consentrate on the film instead of technical problems.
