Sander Ferdinand
Today, i was looking for a very wide angle lense for a s16mm camera at the local rental house. They had the Optex 5,5mm and the Century 6mm ( panspheron add-on made it 4,5mm ). So i tried them out both, and i don't like the vertical distortion you get on both when you pan the camera around,. So i was wondering, is there a very wide angle lense availible in super16 with a fisheye effect ? ( That's gotta be one of the cheaper wide angle lenses one could build, right ? ). Something like a Peleng 8mm 3.5T on a s35mm format camera, but then for s16mm. Thanks, Sander Ferdinand Edited July 7, 2008 by Sander Ferdinand
Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted July 8, 2008 Site Sponsor Share Posted July 8, 2008 Something like a Peleng 8mm 3.5T on a s35mm format camera, but then for s16mm. Thanks, Sander Ferdinand I think century had a 3.5mm which works as a fisheye for 16mm. They seems to pop up on ebay from time to time... -Rob-

Thanks, Sander Ferdinand I am not sure I think you are more likely to get a bit of a circular bubble in the middle of the Super-16 frame. -Rob-
Leo Anthony Vale
Optika-Elite makes a 4.5mm S16 fisheye. Not as pricey as a Zeiss, but still pricey. Slow-motion in LA rents it. http://www.slowmotioninc.com/rental/16mm_lenses.htm
