-no pics of the camera case, consider a pelican case with padded dividers -avoid pick n pluck foam

Is there anything wrong with pick n pluck foam?

I'm looking for a case for my ACL now that i need to send it out for an overhaul.

I'd like to place the camera in the case standing up, in a top-loaded case.

Any suggestions?

Thanks-

Nicholas

Pelican cases come with 2 types of padding. Padded dividers. And pick n pluck foam.

Pick n pluck requires you to remove small sections of foam and tailor the shape of your insert. It can eventually get ugly. And once you begin modifying your camera package, its tough to tailor it to your needs. You may at first have a perfectly tailored section to insert your gear. but overtime, you will add or remove items and the foam youve removed will most likely be gone. Unless you save it, and then you have to glue it back in. Its tedious.

Padded dividers are not destructive. Its alll about velcro. You move small sectional padded dividers that are surrounded by velcro, sticking them anywhere.

Its alot easier to lose the plucked foam than it is to lose a padded divider.
