Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 11, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 11, 2008 David, while I'm not sure on this it looks like the Mamiya bayonet is closest to a BNCR mount in terms of Flange Focal Dist. I recall also having seen mayima lenses converted to BNCR mounts before as well. Visual Products offers a BNCR mount conversion for the red so that may well be a good place to start looking. for those interesting, i found this nice little chart of lens FFDs. http://lens-reviews.com/Lens-Talk/Lens-Tal...ens-Mounts.html
David Wright
Thanks, I just bought a Mamiya / B4 adapter so would like to have just one lens kit for both camera systems. I shoot wildlife material so most interested in macro and telephoto lenses. David www.lunaseafilms.com
Premium Member John Sprung Posted November 11, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 11, 2008 A google search for ready made adapters came up empty, but maybe somebody knows of a source. Per that FFD chart, the Mamiya 645 is 63.3 mm, and Red's PL is 52.0 mm. That gives you just a tad bit less than half an inch in which to make an adapter. So, it should be a doable thing. Maybe start with an extension tube for the Mamiya and a PL body cap, and a precision machine shop could put something together. -- J.S.
