Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted November 13, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 13, 2008 Siemens, not siemmens Want to do it yourself? Black paper and white paper. Cut triangles out of white paper and lay them out on black paper. Try to be big, the bigger the better. Then shoot.
Premium Member Chris Keth Posted November 14, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted November 14, 2008 Panavision Australia has a couple different ones for download in PDF form. panavision.com.au
Rory Hanrahan
I suggest using photo-quality paper (matte, not glossy), not just run-of-the-mill printer paper. I think you'll find the image will bleed less, remain sharper and will take more abuse.

But, much better than the one you can print out (IMO!) Rob Lau Camera Assistant IATSE Local 600 NYC

Rory Hanrahan
Personally, I like something a bit more uniform than the home-made versions laid out here (though they do sound like fun craft projects!). I use the Century Optics chart as well, though I know some AC's who swear by the photo-printer version (while spending $$$ on DSC lab charts -- I guess you can't just photocopy those, huh? ;) ). Richard Vialet
Maybe these will help: http://www.bobelfstrom.com/downloads/sieme...ocus%20star.pdf http://www.lvrusa.com/PDF/BackFocusChart.pdf I printed out one of these and I have it attached to the back of my grey card for easy access. If you can get your hands on the great SharpMax or other portable collimator, they work very well and a lot quicker to use and easier to back-focus. Mike Thorn
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikethorn/3159219181/ This is my favorite star chart. I used it on RED a couple times this year and it actually resolves at such a high resolution that it made the entire LCD shear (on build 16). Depending on the lens, you can actually get four stars out of this chart instead of just one. I have a super-high-resolution version if you need it (5075x4725). Email me for a copy.
