Hi!

 

What is idea behind two focus marks on the lens - one yellow and one blue?

Is focus measured from focal plane, or from front element on these series?

Have you ever known of any sort of lens where you measure focus from the front element ? And how about F and T stops ?

mm. yes. some Sony broadcast lenses.

it's just someone mentioned on this forum because of the size of the lenses, it comes down as more precise to actually measure from front on L series.

that's why I'm asking.

Hi,

 

I remember some PV lenses having 2 focus marks, near wide open used a different mark. Look to match the color of the T stop marks with the color of witness mark.

 

It's a long time since I used any PV lenses, but looking at the lenses it should become clear.

Yep. That's the answer, really.

It's just on some the extra mark was blue. On others - black.
