Chance Shirley
Those 1.3x squeeze lenses could be fun for 2/3" video, too. Like the Red Scarlet cam (if it ever actually ships).
Saul Rodgar
Those 1.3x squeeze lenses could be fun for 2/3" video, too. Like the Red Scarlet cam (if it ever actually ships). My understanding is that Scarlet's 2/3" chip would need the 2x squeeze to work best, if the sensor can be unmasked top and bottom (from 16x9 to 4x3), that is. Premium Member Oliver Christoph Kochs Posted February 2, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted February 2, 2010 Did not get my hands on a Hawk :-( but tried them all out an the cinec here in munich. On the SR3 there was still a slight image degrade on the edges but there was also a desqueezer for the viewfinder. I have shot and will shoot most of my films with Kowa and Moeller 2x Scope lenses. I just love the projected widescreen images but there´s always a serious problem with vignetting. I didn't try the Kowa 16H / 8Z yet - just couldn't get a hand on one. The Isco 1,5x works well - it seems that the 1,5x is a better option in terms of image quality for shooting 4:3 anamorphic. Next step: I think i will try a 1.33x lens with super 16 soon to avoid all the problems with edge caching and wideangle loss.
Matti Eerikainen
Has anyone had a chance to use the Hawk anamorphic 16mm lenses?http://www.vantagefilm.com/file/pdf/equipment_41.pdf (pdf download) Hi Vincent, I had a chance to shoot with 1.3X Anamorphic Hawks last October. I've been sharing some thoughts about them in the thread http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?sh...898&hl=hawk Because there have been some inqueries about the footage, I just uploaded to Vimeo my short camera test and some footage from the movie. I hope these will give you some answers, and please ask if something comes in mind. http://www.vimeo.com/9150124 password: posterest - Matti

They would work well on the Si2K as well. This is a 16x9 chip AND it's already PL lens mount. Pity no one in australia has them. jb
