Rob Vogt
I'd Imagine the would've shot it with a moco rig doing the moves and then doing second passes with the same moves with added furniture and doors and stuff, if even that. Things like the coffee pot were obviously added in post. The shots where they would jump from one floor to the next are just vertical wipes in time with the moves. I'd imagine that Khondji was the head cinematographer then probably had to leave and left Hall to take over because of their work prior Khondji was always the DP and Hall was the Op or 2nd unit. It was done using a lot of CG with a combination of live action. Most of the solid surfaces you see walls/railings/kitchen were all CG, where you see the actors - live action was used. The company involved in the CG was BUF. Breakdown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdbpCc3OLgA jasonknightvfx.com
Edgar Dubrovskiy
Behind-the-scenes on the DVD explains how they did it in details. As well as gives some comments on the DP-swap situation.
