Joe Zakko
my bolex's wind-up crank isn't clicking into the thing at the bottom of the body, so the crank is always loose. Does anybody know something I can do to keep it in place when I need to, it's a really annoying problem. I appreciate any tips.
Chris Millar
Is the little brass spring still screwed inside the black handle ? Is the little spigoty thingy on the body that it clamps to still there ? If yes to both then unscrew the spring and bend it back into shape so it does its job again if not - hmmmm, depends what is missing ...
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted January 12, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted January 12, 2011 Usually it's the spring clip screwed to the inside of the black winder handle that distorts or breaks. If it's broken or missing you should be able to pick up a new one from a Bolex tech for under 10 bucks. Or Chris might have a solution involving pliers and a paper clip... :P
Joe Zakko
thanks for the responses, I found that it clips between the normal spigoty thing and the side of the bolex just fine, hope it's not bad for the winder handle.

Yes but if you wedge it where I think you're wedging it, you may be putting excessive drag on the main wind shaft and it could give you inconsistent running speeds. When the camera is running, the winding handle should have a little bit of play. Cheers, Jean-Louis
