Chris Luker
Hey there, I was fortunate enough to meet with Ted from Red for a few minutes while he was up at the Sundance Film Festival. He brought a working Scarlet 8X fixed with him. Here's the video: Scarlet at Sundance I did it for a French website, so the intro/outro is in very bad French. Brian Drysdale
Hopefully they'll put more secure mic inputs onto the brain. The balanced input standard 1/8" jack plugs are a bit insecure for rough and tumble film making. The audio module with the XLRs may cost too much for people who can barely afford the basic shooting rig. Otherwise, it looks like great tool for those people who want a less video look, are happy with the RAW workflow and aren't chasing after larger sensors. Premium Member Kieran Scannell Posted January 28, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted January 28, 2011 Thank you? I'm a pro audio guy not yet a pro photo guy... :D I'm sorry Chris I couldn't resist! No disrespect meant! I've been filming with DSLR's lately, just to work I might add! and they are a f...kin nightmare in my opinion, so your video for me goes out there to all those advertising "art directors" who suggest that "with the right camera there's no real need for all the lights and crew!!" an actual quote from an ad exec. I worked for 2 weeks ago.
