zachary holloran
Hey everyone, I'm shooting super 16mm on the aaton xtr and wanted to get some feedback on ways of pursuing 2.35 aspect ratio. I know it may be impossible to get ground glass, but is it pretty easy to crop just with tape? I didn't understand the scotch tape method very clearly, sorry. Anyway, I also wanted to know if there is an easier way / more accurate . . . This is my first time doing 2.35 so any advice would help - thanks =)
Premium Member Tim Carroll Posted February 19, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted February 19, 2011 Scotch tape method doesn't really work that well with the Aaton cameras as the ground glass/fiber optics screens aren't easily accessible like they are in the Arri 16S, 16BL, 16SR and 16SRII. Alex Gaynor
not sure if you've shot already but I have gone to Abel Cine in LA & NY and they have fed-exed me the 2.35 ground glass for the xtr. It's pretty easy to swap out if it's available, but they are elusive, I think they only have one or two of them...
