Jason Reimer
Has anyone seen this yet? I've been following it since he first started working on it, and it was a documentary on counter-insurgency called Battle For Hearts And Minds. Should be interesting on a number of levels, not least of which will be the cinematography. He shot with a 5DMkII and a 24-70 at f2.8 on a modified steadicam rig. Brian Hulnick
Not for the weak of heart or stomach. Pretty hardcore footage.
Daniel Jackson
I once watched an excellent BBC documentary about a BBC news team working in Iraq Immediately after the Americans entered from Turkey. It shows footage of them hit by friendly fire when a fighter dropped heavy ordinance on them after failing to see the fluorescent press sign on the roofs of the press vehicles, apparently the jet was only fitted with black and white cameras and could not see the bright orange markings. Many of the entourage were killed instantly. Their cameraman was mortally wounded after it was revealed that the BBC would not pay for a bullet/shrapnel proof jacket for him because he was Iraqi and not British. This cause a bit of a anger at the time. Great documentary though.

Jason Reimer
Good to hear, Peter! Where did you see it? Unless it wins an Oscar, I have a feeling it won't make it to any theaters in San Diego.
Premium Member Peter Moretti Posted October 27, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted October 27, 2011 I saw it at the Laemmle's Monica 4-Plex on 2nd Street in Santa Monica. I hope it gets a wider release and more buzz, b/c it was excellent.
Adrian Samuals
I understand that it may well only get a limited release. But does anyone know if it will be released nationwide?
