Bradley Stearn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oitq9NXQxCk&feature=plcp I was given an Ensinor 500mm f/8 mirror lens, I bought a M42 to EOS adaptor so I could use it with my Canon EOS camera. I was struggling to focus, not sure if its because it isn't the sharpest lens, or if I was just bad at focusing. I'm assuming it is just because it isn't the sharpest lens though. It's amazing how close I get to things with this lens, with my normal lenses I would have just walked away from the opurtunity of filming these dragonflies. Tom Jensen
Mirror lenses are not the sharpest and are not used a lot. At an 8 you are wide open and that is not the best place to be shooting. How far can you stop down?
Mark Dunn
Mirror lenses are fixed aperture. There's no stop to down.
Tom Jensen
Mirror lenses are fixed aperture. There's no stop to down. I now seem to remember that. We had one at Otto Nemenz in the 80's. Didn't get a lot of use.
Mathew Rudenberg
The bokeh at 0:40 - 0:47 is quite nice, a result of the mirror I would assume?
