Premium Member Keith Walters Posted July 30, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted July 30, 2012 I presume most of you will have see Mr Bean's performance at the London Olympics Opening ceremony. I've been looking at the HD playback of the Running on the Beach sequence over and over, and I'm completely baffled as to how they managed to integrate him so seamlessly into the original footage. I'm wondering if what they might have done is painstakingly cut the runners out of the original sequence, and paste them (and Mr Bean of course) onto a blank seascape. I don't have a copy of the original film so I can't be sure. The way they had him moving in front of and behind the other runners' limbs as required is really impressive to watch. So does anybody know who did it, and how? Or is that not the original footage?
Mark Dunn
I didn't see the broadcast, but the grab you post isn't from COF. Those are English actors of the present day. Some are faint look-alikes. The COF title sequence is on YouTube.
John Holland
The first shot was from the original film, the rest was all new with different actors.

Oho, so not quite as clever as I imagined. Very well done though, and very funny.
