While DVCPRO50 will only play back on a DVCPRO50 deck, DVCPRO25 plays back just fine on Sony DVCAM decks.

Yes. DVCPRO recorded at 25M plays back on our Sony DSR-1800. (That's playback only - not record)

I would assume the same holds true for a DSR 1500

Hi,

 

The DSR-25, at least early models, will not play back DVCPRO. It's a software thing, I believe, but don't assume.
