Mohammed Sarmadawy
Greetings! I've been trying to find out if it is better if i convert my raw 7D files to apple prores before editing them in Premiere Pro? Do any of you convert your files, any tips thought etc. to make the raw files as ready as possible for the editing process(color correction, etc.)? Brian Drysdale
Part of the answer may depend on the amount of computing power you've got available. Are you talking about RAW stills files or the H.264 video codec? I assume the latter?
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted December 28, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted December 28, 2012 I almost always recommend converting to Pro Res when dealing with FCP 7 or lower. Normally, I just tell people to go through the footage and see what they think they want to use-- convert that stuff and start an almost paper-edit, then throw them into MPEGStreamclip as a batch process so you can run 4x at a time.
