Chris Burke
Hi, i am specifically looking at the voigtlander 17.5 and 25mm. Wondering if it is possible to use them on my PL mount Aaton s16 LTR 7? Could such an adapter be made?
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted May 27, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted May 27, 2013 I would sincerely doubt it. Micro 4/3 lenses have an extremely short back focus, which is why it's easy to mount almost any sort of lens to a micro 4/3 camera. There's lots of space in front of the mount to put adaptors, and still have other lenses (such as PL or EF) sit at the right focal distance. Naturally that means that the position at which the back of a micro 4/3 lens must exist is very close to the sensor (or film), almost certainly so close that the mechanics of the camera would invariably get in the way. The format was designed for mirrorless DSLR-style stills cameras, so they could be more compact. P
Gregg MacPherson
The worlkd gets confusing when M42 is shorthand for a thread description but M43 means a Micro 4/3rds mount..
