Premium Member Tristan Noelle Posted August 16, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted August 16, 2013 I've been googling but can't find the answer. Are 1 ton, 3 ton and 5 ton grip truck packages standardized across the industry? I imagine different rental houses would have roughly the same equipment for these packages, but what grip equipment determines the package? And where do the names come from (that might be obvious but go ahead and humor me...)? Thanks in advance, Tristan
JD Hartman
I think I posted that same Q years ago. Tonnage is truck size I believe, contents seems to vary from company to company and from state to state. Most times "package" is grip gear (and expendables) only, although I've seen rental firms that include a Tungsten light pack with the grip gear. Scott T Summers
Tonnage refers to the amount of weight a truck can carry. This goes for pickup trucks and box trucks as well. I think its safe to say packages vary and most companies will do al la carte for a lot of there heads.
