My discussion topic may appear naive, but I am wondering if anyone ever push processes digital the same way Janusz Kaminski does in Saving Private Ryan, minority report etc.

I understand that digital noise is not desired but can push processing digital create a unique visual aesthetic that isn't too displeasing?

You can add gain while shooting, i.e. run a digi cam at 1600iso (or higher) but that does add electronic noise, you could add gamma in post and denoise the footage which might be closer to a film push but with less pleasant looking grain.
