Syed Usman Jalal Kakakhel
I have Zoom H1 Ultra-Portable Digital Audio Recorder, it has only one 3.5mm input. What tools I need for getting audio recorded from two Mics with option of turning off one of the mic or record simultaneously from both mics? Do I need a mixer? Another Question Using 3.5mm Audio splitter (2 female to 1 male) for recording audio from 2 mics decreases sound quality?
Mark Dunn
Are you sure it's a mono input? If it has three contacts rather than 2 it's stereo and you can use a stereo mike. Premium Member Nima Khazaei Posted June 13, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted June 13, 2015 Wait a second... that's not true, is it? The H1 is a two-channel recorder, the 3.5mm input on it is a stereo microphone input. If he just wants to record from two lavaliers, he can plug one into each of the channels using something like this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/252280-REG/Hosa_Technology_YMM_261_Stereo_Mini_Male_to.html. There wouldn't be any decrease in sound quality since all it's doing is connecting each of the microphones to one of the input channels, and he can mix however he wants in post.
