Remove them and start you rig attaching directly to the box "ears" with machine screws and nuts. The track lighting also presents an opportunity using Cardellini clamps. andrew ward Posted June 17, 2015 Share Posted June 17, 2015 Magnets at each corner of the kino if there is any metal supports in the roof. Of take the squid out of the housing and tape the bulbs up. So directly behind the talent, almost dead centre in the photo where you see left cupboard above the fridge, is where I would want to put a kino backlighting the subject. Perhaps a stand near the dishwasher supporting one end of some speed rail (or even just a plank of wood), and the other end resting on top of that gap above the fridge? Premium Member Mark Kenfield Posted June 18, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted June 18, 2015 Well for a single kino, I'm sure you'd be fine having it braced by a stand on the opposite side of the room, and some shotbags either side of the end that rests on top of the fridge unit. I'd probably also wrap the end of the speedrail/plank that's resting on top of the fridge in cloth so that it's snug between the ceiling and the unit. A furniture clamp across the extractor for the stove top might work, that gap above the fridge housing could also be used to boom out a support arm to hold the kino. From that you could suspend a light or two fairly easily. Sheetmetal ductwork has little or no structural strength. Maybe you can slide a pancake with a pidgeon plate and short gobo arm in there and bag the crap out of it. That might hold a lighter unit like a Skinny Man, a Single tube, or a Litemat.
