Manu Delpech
I've seen that you can only rent the Alexa 65 through their Arri Rental network. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the rental costs are? I'm thinking they must be ginormous right now, but i'm really wondering.
Premium Member Jay Young Posted November 4, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted November 4, 2015 The Alexa regular is something like $1000/day + (with better weekly rates of course) so maybe the 65 is... more? I can't actually find any companies that list the 65 for rent - I suspect it is Arri only at this point. You could call?
Manu Delpech
Yep, they pretty much say it's only available through Arri Rental, I can't call since I'm not in any country that has an Arri Rental facility, I just wanted to know if anybody knows specifically. Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted November 5, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2015 It's a lot more than you could ever imagine. While I haven't called myself, I'd peg it, to start, around $5k/day. Like the Alexa IR there aren't many of them out there in existence, so they demand a major premium. Manu Delpech
Woosh ! :D I sent an email to one of the people down in Atlanta, out of curiosity. I was watching on YT an Arri presentation where they showed some footage + talked about the upcoming movies shooting on it, it was posted in september and they said they had 30 bodies it seems. Rogue One is using 3, with 7 on certain sequences, Assassin's Creed is using 3, etc, etc.
Premium Member Jay Young Posted November 5, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2015 Well I for one hope this frees up the film camera rental prices so us poor folk can afford more than a long weekend shoot!
Manu Delpech
I was surprised by how cheap film cameras can be though after seeing with Panavision for rental.
